About this video
Claire was born in Romania in 1918, but had to escape to France, where her siblings already lived. In her attempt to rescue her sister from the Nazis, she lost her freedom too: she ended up in a concentration camp. This short film recalls her story and how this dark chapter in history affected her family as well. It is part of a series for the #StolenMemory campaign by the Arolsen Archives. Jewelry, photos, papers – the Nazis confiscated all the victims’ personal belongings on their arrest. Several thousand of these items from the concentration camps still exist today. The Arolsen Archives search for the victims’ families and return these things to them. Find out more about #StolenMemory: https://stolenmemory.org/
