Panic animates an explainer for Opioid Overdose Treatment Animating can be serious business—especially when it involves a life-saving video for Opvee’s opioid overdose treatment. Trusted by creative agency Moon Rabbit, we were assigned the task of educating viewers on the signs of an opioid overdose, making sure they understood the urgency of the situation, and providing them with clear instructions for administering this life-saving product correctly. The challenge was to use a limited set of colors to captivate viewers, keep them engaged, and maintain highly memorable clarity. We also had to consider the viability of a visual style that may be atypical for the Pharma industry but ideal for this product's audience. The use of collage provided great creative control over this complex narrative. The combination of realism and playfulness allowed for the incorporation of rich textures, backgrounds, and objects. This approach complemented striking custom typography that would enhance the voice-over text and help the animation achieve a modern, attention-grabbing, and relatable result. Furthermore, pixel art for the character's face and dynamic elements for the body created a sense of fluidity that would resonate with a broad audience. We wanted the video to have a rhythm - to feel like it had a pulse so that it would breathe life into this topic. We knew the visual style needed to capture the viewer's full attention and leave them with an indelibly strong understanding of this topic that they could easily recall when it was most important.
