About this video
Hey everyone! Here is a little story about the production process behind this video. This project is the kind of opportunity that only comes together when stars align. It’s not always that clients give you complete freedom to develop the storyboard and moodboard, so I dove right in! After my first call with the Gloat team and presenting the initial version of the storyboard, I could tell this video had real potential. The adjustments were precise, and we were all aligned on how to tell the story. Then came the technical challenge: I asked Bianca Banderna (the illustrator of the project) to create all the screens in vector format with gradients! And she absolutely nailed it, creating such a stunning style. Huge thanks to Bianca! Overcoming this challenge made my life much easier in After Effects, and it allowed me to do the final polishing in AE instead of Photoshop, which gave me more freedom to experiment with textures, lighting, and shadows without making the file too heavy. The animator’s dream! Once the illustrations were done, I moved on to the animatic, and that’s where the fun really began. The deadline was set in collaboration with the client, which gave me almost a month to refine each scene and make sure every moment was just right. After some back-and-forth on the music, we sent it over to my friend Cristiano De Petrillo. He really captured the essence of the movie and elevated it with a dynamic, immersive sound design. It made the entire process more enjoyable and kept me hooked until the very end. Prego! Grazie! I hope you enjoy the final result! Feel free to leave your comments - I’d love to hear your thoughts.
